Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

An easy-to-make versatile pizza dough

Ingredients

1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 cup bread flour + a little extra for kneading
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)

Directions

1. Put the active dry yeast in water and stir gently until yeast has dissolved. Set aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Combine salt and flour in a medium bowl.
3. Stir in and combine yeast mixture, oil, and optional oregano with flour.
4. Knead dough for 8 – 10 minutes.
5. Lift dough up and bang it down a few times to develop gluten.
6. Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with moist towel and let rise for 1 hour.
